Aby and Will met with lawyers, legal advocates, activists and survivors from across the US at the annual National Association for Rights Protection and Advocacy conference, held in Baltimore, Maryland. Leah Harris received a standing ovation for her incredible keynote address, and Aby and Will presented a workshop about the legal advocacy work of the Freedom Center called "How Lawyers Can Be Allies. Highlights of the conference included Professor Michael Perlin's presentation on the use of psychiatric incarceration against political dissidents around the world, and Bazelon Center's Karen Bower discussing college mental health issues, including incidents of students being expelled after suicide attempts or cutting.
